Inventors include Caillierez, Antoine; Muthaiah, Sattheesh-Kumar; Ramesh-Babu Beema-Thangarajan; and Ramamurthy, Jagannath.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: COIL ASSEMBLIES FOR LIGHT WEIGHT WIRELESS CHARGING SYSTEM The present disclosure discloses a coil assembly (200) for wireless charging systems. The assembly (200) comprises plurality of ground coils (200a…n) arranged along a charging track, each having first coil sections (201, 201’) and second coil sections (202, 202’). A first set of discrete ferrite bars (203) is positioned perpendicularly along the first coil sections (201, 201’), and a second discrete ferrite bar (204) is aligned parallel to the second coil sections (202, 202’). This configuration reduces ferrite usage by 54% while maintaining power transfer efficiency at misaligned positions. Additionally, the ferrite bars (203, 204) are placed with predefined gaps (a) and length of protrusions (e) to further optimize coupling performance and reduce inverter bandwidth requirements. The disclosure enables reliable, cost-effective power transfer with minimal material waste and reduced system complexity.
