MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641104211 A) filed by P Venkata Krishna on August 29, 2026, for Coaxial Dual-Mirror Lidar Scanning System With Contactless Rotary Interface And Adaptive Scan Control.

Inventors include Pulivarthi Snehalatha; and Y. Bhavani Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: A coaxial dual-mirror lidar scanning system is disclosed. Nested housings carry two mirrors, each fixed at a predetermined angle relative to its incident beam, so that the beam footprint remains substantially constant. Continuous 360° azimuth rotation of the first housing is achieved through a contactless rotary interface that transfers power inductively and data optically or wirelessly, eliminating mechanical slip rings. The transmitter and optical receiver remain stationary. A processor adaptively varies elevation and/or azimuth sampling density in response to real-time lidar return characteristics. The combination provides improved reliability, constant optical efficiency and adaptive atmospheric scanning capability.
