Abstract: COATED STEEL SUBSTRATES COMPRISING A ZN-CR ALLOY COATING AND METHODS THEREOF The present disclosure provides a coated steel substrate comprising a Zn-Cr coating, wherein the coating comprises about 99.95 wt.% to 99.99 wt.% of Zn and about 0.01 wt.% to 0.05 wt.% of Cr. The present disclosure also relates to a method of preparing said coated steel substrate. The Zn-Cr alloy coating on the coated substrate is stable, hard, impermeable, non-toxic and corrosion resistant, specifically showing higher resistance to corrosion compared to conventional Zn coatings. Additionally, the method of the present disclosure is simple, cost- effective, and suitable for galvanisation of continuous as well as batch products. [FIG. 7]
