Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION This project presents the development of CloudHawk AI, an advanced security monitoring tramework designed to provide real- time visibility and threat detection within cloud computing environments. At its core, the system leverages a Python-based backend that interfaces with Amazon Web Services (A WS) to ingest and analyze CloudTrail logs stored in S3 buckets. The architecture utilizes the Boto3 SDK to perform automated data retrieval and decompression, enabling the system to process large-scale event data with minimal latency. The analytical engine of CloudHawk AI incorporates a custom rule-based detection pipeline that evaluates cloud activities-such as unauthorized lAM user creation, privilege escalation, and critical resource termination-within a 15-minute sliding window to ensure immediate response capabilities. To facilitate user interaction, a responsive web dashboard was developed using the Flask framework, featuring a high-contrast interface built with HTML and CSS that displays live threat statistics and detailed event logs. The system further employs multi-threading to maintain a persistent background connection with the cloud provider, ensuring that security metrics are updated every five minutes without manual intervention. By bridging the gap between raw infrastructure logs and actionable security intelligence, this project offers a scalable solution for proactive cloud defense, aligning with modem Cybersecurity and DevOps standards for protecting sensitive digital assets in distributed environments.
