Abstract: A cloud-integrated Internet of Things (loT) smart bed designed for dynamic pressure redistribution and temperature adjustment in bedridden patients. Prolonged immobility often causes pressure-related injuries, discomfort, and thermal imbalance, requiring continuous 5 monitoring and timely intervention. The smart bed integrates pressure sensors, temperature sensors, body position sensors, and occupancy sensors to collect real-time patient and mattress condition data. A Raspberry Pi Pico W (RP2040) microcontroller processes the sensor information and controls inflatable air chambers and temperature regulation units to maintain optimal patient comfort. A SIM7670G 4G LTE communication module enables 10 secure data transmission between the smart bed and cloud platform for remote monitoring and alert management. The cloud interface provides healthcare professionals with access to patient status, operational records, and notification updates. The invention reduces manual caregiver effort, improves patient safety, minimizes pressure concentration risks, and supports efficient long-term healthcare management. The proposed IoT- based smart bed 15 offers a reliable, scalable, and automated solution for hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and home-care environments.
