Abstract: The present invention proposes a cloud-based college bus tracking and safety management system designed to improve transportation efficiency, student safety, and real-time monitoring for educational institutions. The system integrates GPS technology, RFID-based automatic attendance, cloud computing, mobile applications, and web-based administrative control into a unified intelligent platform. The invention enables real-time tracking of buses through GPS modules installed in vehicles, allowing students, parents, teachers, and administrators to monitor live bus locations and estimated arrival times. The system includes four user modules namely Student, Driver, Teacher, and Principal/Admin for efficient transportation management. The Driver module is used to start and end trips, while the Teacher module acts as a route superintendent for monitoring attendance and route activities. The Principal/Admin module manages buses, routes, users, and application settings through an administrative dashboard. RFID scanners installed inside the buses automatically detect student RFID cards and record attendance without manual intervention. The invention further includes safety features such as overspeed detection, route deviation monitoring, geofencing alerts, and emergency notification mechanisms. The cloud-based infrastructure stores transportation data and generates analytical reports related to attendance, trip history, and vehicle performance. Thus, the proposed invention provides a smart, automated, secure, and scalable transportation management solution for educational institutions.
