MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511006301 A) filed by Indian Council Of Medical Research on January 25, 2025, for Cloning And Expression Of Recombinant Human Cc16 Protein And Antibodies Against The Same.

Inventors include Shyam Sundar Nandi; Sonali Ankush Sawant; and Jagadish Mohan Deshpande.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a recombinant CC16 protein synthesised by recombinant DNA technology. As CC16 is very small molecule, for preparing a recombinant CC16 protein, a novel sequence with three CC16 encoding gene sequence linked by polynucleotide sequence encoding linker (Gene -linker-Gene -linker- Gene) is used. The recombinant CC16 protein is used to generate monoclonal antibodies against the same. The two monoclonal antibodies 1H11, and 3G4 are highly reactive with the recombinant CC16 protein.
