MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621081509 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on July 01, 2026, for Climate Risk Scoring System For Environmental Telemetry-Driven Loan Underwriting.
Inventors include Dr. Rashmy Moray; and Dr. Ahuti S Mishra.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT CLIMATE RISK SCORING SYSTEM FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TELEMETRY-DRIVEN LOAN UNDERWRITING A climate-aware underwriting system (100) and method for real-time environmental telemetry-driven credit risk assessment and automated loan decisioning are disclosed. The system acquires continuous telemetry from distributed IoT sensing devices (108), integrates environmental data with borrower financial and collateral information through a data fusion engine (110), and generates a borrower-specific Climate Exposure Index Vector encoding multidimensional environmental exposure. A machine-learning risk computation module (112) transforms the vector into a dynamic climate risk score. A control module (122) detects threshold-crossing environmental events triggering automated risk recalibration. A decision interface module (114) communicates updated scores to loan underwriting systems (118) for automated credit parameter adjustment including dynamic loan repricing. An alert module (126) generates notifications for affected stakeholders. The closed-loop architecture enables continuous autonomous climate-credit adaptation. [
