The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed are sustained-release oral microbeads containing Citrus pseudolimon extract within an ionotropically cross-linked calcium-alginate and guar-gum matrix. A bead-forming dispersion contains 3% w/v extract, 5% w/v sodium alginate and 0.05% w/v guar gum and is introduced dropwise into 5% w/v calcium chloride. Before gelation, the dispersion is homogenized at 10,000 rpm for 5 minutes, protected from light for 12 hours, probe-sonicated for 10 minutes and debubbled for 2 hours. Washed beads are air-dried or freeze-dried. The dried beads are substantially spherical, have mean diameters of 0.82 ± 0.14 mm and 0.74 ± 0.12 mm, encapsulation efficiencies of 82.6 ± 2.1% and 87.9 ± 1.8%, and extract loadings of 25.4 ± 1.3% and 27.1 ± 1.1%, respectively. Limited gastric release followed by controlled intestinal release suppresses burst release and physically isolates unpleasant-tasting extract. The formulation provides reproducible bead formation, storage protection and sustained delivery as a manufactured composition, not a therapeutic treatment method. Reference
