Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a citronellol essential oil-based pharmaceutical composition (100) for peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain. The composition (100) comprises citronellol essential oil (101) as a bioactive component, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier (102) for providing the essential oil in a suitable formulation, and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients (103), stabilizers (104), emulsifiers (105), penetration enhancers (106), and/or diluents (107). The composition (100) is provided in a dosage form (108) including a topical gel, cream, ointment, lotion, spray, or transdermal patch. The citronellol essential oil (101) is evaluated for its effects on neuropathic pain, oxidative and nitrosative stress, motor nerve conduction, and functional recovery following peripheral nerve injury. The composition (100) is evaluated using behavioural, biochemical, electrophysiological and walking-track assessments, demonstrating its disclosed analgesic, antioxidant, neuroprotective and functional-recovery effects.
