Abstract: ABSTRACT Cinnamic acid-derived N-heterocyclic compounds (TPDM and TF) inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection and its method of preparation The present invention relates to Cinnamic acid-derived N-heterocyclic compounds (TPDM and TF) that inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection and its method of preparation. Cinnamic acid derived thiadiazole compounds are synthesized by novel microwave irradiation method. This method used minimum solvent and time (ecofriendly), but showed higher yield (72 %) compared to conventional methods including reflux (47%) and stirring (59%). The synthesized compounds showed significant antiviral activity against SARS CoV-2 infection at non-toxic concentration. The method of synthesis is more eco-friendly as it uses minimum reaction time, solvent and catalyst. The synthesized compounds shows a reduction of 94% in viral copy number at the non-toxic concentration. Compound TF and TPDM was found to have an IC50 of 19.62µM and 17.2 µM respectively against SARS CoV-2. TF and TPDM also inhibited CHIKV infection significantly.
