Abstract: Present invention relates to a charger (100). The charger (100) comprises a housing (102) having an input port (104) is detachably coupled to an input connector (108) connectable to a power source (110). An output port (106) is detachably coupled to an output connector (112) connectable to a battery pack (114) of a device (116). A control unit (118) is configured to determine the charging power to be supplied to the battery pack (114) based on at least one of input parameters of the power source (110), charging protocols pertaining to the device (116), and parameters of the battery pack (114). The control unit (118) then modulates the input power received to the input port (104) for generating and supplying charging power to the battery pack (114), thereby allowing user to replace output cord (138), which saves a significant cost in replacing the charger (100).
