MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617083572 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc. on July 07, 2026, for Channel Switching Technique For Accessing Non-Primary Channel.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The technical features of the present disclosure may relate to an apparatus or method performed in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system. For example, the present specification proposes a technical feature of suggesting an optimal timing for performing non-primary channel access (NPCA), depending on which PPDU format/type/version an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) traffic has. For example, a station (STA) may receive an OBSS signal. For example, on the basis of the OBSS signal, the STA may access an NPCA primary channel, attempt/perform switching to the NPCA primary channel, or trigger or perform an NPCA operation. The NPCA primary channel may be accessed on the basis of at least one of: a basic network allocation vector (NAV) set for the primary channel on the basis of the OBSS signal; and a wait time associated with the OBSS signal. For example, the wait time associated with the OBSS signal may be set on the basis of NAVWaitTime.
