In some aspects, a network node may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a channel state information (CSI) reporting configuration to map a resource set of multiple CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources to a CSI-RS antenna port subset. In further aspects, the UE may transmits, and the network node receives, a CSI report including a precoding matrix indicator (PMI), which is determined by an adaptable codebook in association with the number of port subset.
