Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous smart waste management system integrating intelligent waste segregation, proactive component protection, autonomous logistics, and secure waste collection. The system comprises a waste receptacle, a control board, a hybrid material identification module employing inductive and capacitive proximity sensors, a bi-stable latching solenoid-based electromechanical refusal lock, an autonomous mobility module, a wireless communication interface, and a protected power system. The bi-stable locking mechanism prevents continuous power consumption and motor burnout caused by waste overflow. The hybrid sensing module automatically classifies metallic, plastic, and biodegradable waste into designated compartments using sequential sensor-based analysis. The system synchronizes with external collection schedules, performs authorization checks, autonomously travels a predetermined short distance to a collection point, establishes a secure RF/NFC communication handshake and temporary docking with a waste collection vehicle, and transfers waste efficiently while protecting electronic components through thermal and leachate isolation.
