Abstract: CENTRALIZED HYDROLOGICAL DATA ACQUISITION WITH DYNAMIC MODE SWITCHING AND CONTROLLED-ACCESS SYSTEM FOR RIVER WATER-LEVEL MONITORING A centralized hydrological monitoring system (100) for adaptive river water-level monitoring across geographically distributed locations is disclosed. The system (100) includes plurality of monitoring devices (130), a communication architecture, cloud server (140), and an admin console (150) configured for centralized monitoring and adaptive operational control. Each monitoring device (130) includes sensor unit (305), primary microcontroller unit (330), a power management unit (360), memory (380), and a wireless communication unit (390). The system (100) performs dynamic mode switching between a normal mode, a safe mode, a hibernation mode, an ultra-low power mode, and a multi-disaster mode in accordance with evaluated operational conditions including battery status, communication availability, inactivity duration, and detected risk events. The system (100) further facilitates selective component-level power optimization, parallel event processing, real-time alerts, and energy-efficient cyclical monitoring operations.
