Abstract: Plastic is a non-biodegradable substance that takes thousands of years to decompose, leading to land and water pollution. It is a rapidly growing segment of municipal plastic waste, and the disposal of waste plastic materials, including plastic bags, has become a serious problem. One of the best ways to mitigate the accumulation of plastic waste is to repurpose it as a binding material in construction. This approach not only helps conserve energy and reduce construction costs but also addresses the issue of plastic waste disposal. In the current study, various types of plastic waste have been introduced as a binding material to completely substitute cement in the production of cement-less paver blocks. The constituents of the paver block include different ratios of sand and plastic, with proportions of 70:30, 60:40, and 50:50 being evaluated. In this study, a mixture of different types of plastic waste in varying proportions was combined with fine aggregates to create a cement-less paving block. Plastic waste proportions of 30%, 40% and 50% were used to replace cement and were investigated to achieve satisfactory physical and mechanical properties while considering temperature effects. This approach introduces more affordable cement-less paving blocks by utilizing waste materials such as tins, PET plastic bottles, and sea sand. The average initial and final setting times of the paver block were 20 and 30 minutes, respectively. Additionally, the plastic paver blocks exhibited low water absorption.
