Abstract: A cement mortar composite (100) and method of preparation thereof are disclosed. The composite (100) comprises ordinary Portland cement (101), standard sand (102), water (106), MIL-101(Cr) nanoparticles (107), and halloysite clay nanotubes (108). The MIL-101(Cr) nanoparticles (107) are provided as a three-dimensional porous metal-organic framework additive, while the halloysite clay nanotubes (108) are provided as one-dimensional aluminosilicate nanotubes. An aqueous MIL- 101(Cr) dispersion (109) and an aqueous HNT dispersion (110) are separately prepared by stirring and ultrasonication and are incorporated into a cement-sand dry mix (113) with additional water (111) to obtain a fresh mortar mix (114). The MIL-101(Cr) nanoparticles (107) and halloysite clay nanotubes (108) form a hybrid nanomaterial network (119) that promotes calcium silicate hydrate gel (121), reduces calcium hydroxide crystals (122), pores (123), and microcracks (124), and provides a dense cement matrix (125) having improved compressive and flexural strength.
