A method comprises receiving, from a network device, configuration information for performing a measurement on a cell, determining whether the configuration information indicates availability of a measurement parameter; in response to the determination of the availability of the measurement parameter, performing the measurement on the cell; and in response to the determination of unavailability of the measurement parameter, refraining from performing the measurement on the cell.
