Abstract: The present application provides a cell measurement method and a communication apparatus. The method may comprise: a terminal device uses a wake-up circuit to perform measurement on a serving cell; if the terminal device has not performed measurement on a neighboring cell, the terminal device, on the basis of the cell quality of the serving cell and a first threshold, starts to use a main circuit to measure the neighboring cell; and if the terminal device has performed measurement on the neighboring cell, the terminal device, on the basis of the cell quality of the serving cell and a second threshold, stops using the main circuit to measure the neighboring cell, the first threshold being different from the second threshold. In this way, after the introduction of the wake-up circuit to the terminal device, whether to use the main circuit to measure the neighboring cell can be determined by means of two thresholds, such as the first threshold and the second threshold, such that the cell measurement performance can be improved. In addition, in some scenarios, the frequency of the operation of starting the main circuit to execute cell measurement can be reduced, thereby improving the benefit to the terminal device from the wake-up circuit in terms of power consumption.
