Abstract: Disclosed in the present invention are a catalyst composition and a preparation method therefor, and the use thereof in the alkylation of an aromatic hydrocarbon and an olefin. The catalyst composition comprises: (a) a first catalyst, wherein the first catalyst is a molecular sieve catalyst having an initial static water contact angle ?1 of 10-15°, and a static water adsorption capacity of 220-280 mg/g; and (b) a second catalyst, wherein the second catalyst is a molecular sieve catalyst having an initial static water contact angle ?2 of 140-165°, and a static water adsorption capacity is 130-170 mg/g. The catalyst composition exhibits high activity, selectivity, stability, and resistance to impurities when used in the alkylation of an aromatic hydrocarbon and an olefin to prepare an alkyl aromatic hydrocarbon.
