MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202644030217 A) filed by Brckner Maschinenbau Gmbh on March 13, 2026, for Casting Unit, Unit For Producing A Film As Well As Method For Producing A Film.

Abstract: A casting unit (14) for a unit (10) for producing a film (F) comprises a slot die (26), a chill roll (28) and an air nozzle apparatus (32). The chill roll (28) comprises at least a circumferential surface (36) and is designed to rotate about an axis so that the circumferential surface (36) moves in a direction of rotation (R), wherein the slot die (26) is configured to generate a melt (38). The air nozzle apparatus (32) is connected to the slot die (26) so that the circumferential surface (36) of the chill roll (28), the melt (38), the slot die (26) and the air nozzle apparatus (32) are delimited by an intermediate space (48), wherein the air nozzle apparatus (32) is designed to generate an air flow (46) that impinges on the circumferential surface (36) along a line of action (W) counter to the direction of rotation (R) and generates negative pressure in the intermediate space (48). Moreover, a unit (10) as well as a method for producing a film (F) are provided.
