MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091384 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology Kattankulathur- on July 26, 2026, for Cascaded Renewable-Grid Integrated Power Management Architecture For Multi-Application Energy Systems.

Inventors include Dr. R. Sridhar; Dr. S. Usha; Dr. A. Geetha; and Dr. J. Santhakumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The current invention suggests a Cascaded Renewable-Grid Integrated Power Management Architecture. This architecture is intended to be utilized in energy systems with many functionalities. It is an all-in-one cost-effective cascaded power management system, comprising grid power transmission, lithium-ion battery storage and photovoltaic (PV) solar generating. The proposed design operates in DC domain without any inverter unlike conventional back-up system. This enables the direct supply of the products based on DC and avoids the need for expensive AC converter stages. To ensure safe lithium-ion battery management, the invention has adopted the Constant Current-Constant Voltage (CC-CV) charging method; photovoltaic (PV) energy utilization is achieved by adopting the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology; to ensure smooth and stable load switching, an intelligent source-selection strategy based on a microcontroller is adopted. Scalable, versatile and suitable for house light, consumer electronics, smart appliances and security systems, it offers a low-cost power option for low-income households and rural areas where existing inverter technology is unavailable. It also can be used for household lighting.
