Abstract: The disclosed aerosol generating device (100) includes a body (102) having a cavity to enclose a cartridge (104). The cartridge (104) having a bottom surface (104-1) formed with a ferro magnetic material. A cartridge removal mechanism (103) is provided in the body (102). The cartridge removal mechanism (103) includes a set of electromagnets (128-1, 128-2) positioned below the bottom surface (104-1) of the cartridge (104). The set of electromagnets (128-1, 128-2) magnetically couples with the cartridge (104) for positioning and retention. The set of electromagnets (128-1, 128-2) activates to decouple the cartridge (104) for controlled removal.
