Abstract: Abstract CareBand AI: An IoT-Based Assistive Wristband for the Specially-Abled Persons The present invention relates to a wearable safety and communication device for blind persons, persons who are both blind and deaf, and wheelchair-dependent individuals. The device comprises a motion sensor for detecting wheelchair tip-over, a location module for determining the wearer's position, and a communication module for transmitting an emergency alert with location to a caregiver via a cellular network, remaining operable during network congestion. A controller reads a stored disability profile of the wearer and automatically selects between a voice output module, providing an offline audible alert for blind users, and a vibration output module, providing a tactile alert for blind-deaf users. This automatic, disability- specific alert selection, combined with network-resilient caregiver notification, distinguishes the present device from existing wearable fall-detection devices, which do not provide sensory-appropriate alerting for these user groups.
