MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641126843 A) filed by Dr. Mgr Educational And Research Institute on October 24, 2026, for Cardiovascular Disease Prediction System And Method Using Support Vector Classifier With Cost- Sensitive Hyperparameter.

Inventors include Vercelline Margaret V G; Dr. S. Nirmala Sugirtha Rajini; Dr. Swedha M; and Dr. K. Selvam.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A cardiovascular disease prediction system (100) includes a patient data input (102) configured to receive patient health data comprising demographic data, clinical data, and lifestyle data; a data processing unit (104) coupled to the patient data input (102) and configured to preprocess the patient health data by handling missing values, normalizing data values, and encoding categorical values, and to select relevant features from the preprocessed patient health data; a Support Vector Classifier prediction engine (106) coupled to the data processing unit (104) and configured to classify the preprocessed patient health data using a radial basis function kernel to generate a binary cardiovascular risk classification, wherein a regularisation parameter C and a kernel coefficient gamma of the Support Vector Classifier prediction engine (106) are tuned against a cost-sensitive objective that weights false negative classifications more heavily than false positive classifications; and a result display (108) coupled to the Support Vector Classifier prediction engine (106) and configured to present the binary cardiovascular risk classification in real time.
