Abstract: The present invention relates to the technical field of batteries. Disclosed are a carbon material, a preparation method therefor and the use thereof, and a sodium ion battery. The R1 value of the carbon material provided by the present invention is 0.19-0.3, preferably 0.22-0.25; I002 is the peak intensity of the (002) peak in the XRD pattern of the carbon material, I002,G is the peak intensity of the (002) peak of internal standard graphite in the XRD pattern, and the weight ratio of the carbon material to the graphite during test is 1:10. The carbon material provided by the present invention has a remarkably improved proportion of slope capacity, and slope sections have fast ion transport kinetics and high potential, thus facilitating improvement of rate capacity and cycle performance.
