Abstract: A carbon fiber-reinforced Polyetheretherketone (PEEK-CF) bone plate specifically configured for medial high tibial osteotomy (HTO). The plate is anatomically contoured to fit the medial proximal tibia and is designed to stabilize an opening wedge osteotomy while allowing precise correction of varus deformity. The PEEK-CF plate is formed of a material significantly softer than the titanium screws used in conjunction with it. The plate comprises a plurality of fixation holes having smooth, rounded, non-threaded interior walls. The diameter of each fixation hole is intentionally smaller than the outer diameter of the titanium screw. This combination of material differential and dimensional interference allows the screws to be inserted at a wide range of surgeon-selected angles. As the harder titanium screw advances through the hole, it cold-forms and self-threads the PEEK-CF material, creating a secure, locked construct at the optimal trajectory without requiring threaded locking holes or directionally constrained screw paths. The invention provides a radiolucent, high-strength, bone-modulus-matched fixation solution that reduces stress shielding and improves postoperative imaging compared to traditional metallic HTO plates.
