Abstract: A carbon aware traffic signal control and emission mitigation device, comprising a rigid bar 101, a plurality of LEDs 103 to operate as adaptive traffic signal lights, an imaging unit 104 to capture lane wise traffic density, vehicle type, and idle duration, an air quality sensing unit 105 to continuously monitor ambient air quality, a conversion module that convert traffic parameters such as lane wise density, vehicle type, and idle duration into emission values, a mapping unit that generate lane wise and micro zone emission maps of the traffic signal junction, and to perform temporal emission profiling for identifying emission hotspots and idle heavy zones, a predictive engine to forecast short term congestion and emission spikes, a carbon absorption and filtration arrangement 106 to capture airborne pollutants, an electronic sprayer 107 to spray ultra fine mist for particulate suppression, an air flow redirection and ventilation to disperse pollutants upward and sideways away from pedestrian zones.
