MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511024149 A) filed by Fiem Industries Ltd. on March 18, 2025, for Capacitive Touch-Enabled Led Automotive Reading Lamp System And Method.

Inventors include Dinesh Chand Gupta; Amrit Pal; and Hitesh Agarwal.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for capacitive touch-enabled control and diagnostic monitoring of an automotive reading lamp. The system (100) comprises a capacitive touch sensor (102) for detecting user touch input, a microcontroller unit (104) operatively coupled to capacitive touch sensor (102), PWM control module (106), one or more LED reading lamps (108), diagnostic MOSFET switch (110), resistive ladder diagnostic network (112), and a vehicle interface (114). The microcontroller unit (104) receives user touch input and controls illumination of one or more LED reading lamps through the PWM control module (106). The one or more LED reading lamps (108) form at least a part of resistive ladder diagnostic network (112). Upon detection of lamp fault or capacitive sensing fault, microcontroller unit (104) actuates diagnostic MOSFET switch (110) to modify resistance value of resistive ladder diagnostic network (112), thereby enabling vehicle interface (114) to detect the fault condition.
