MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050275 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on April 20, 2026, for Capacitive Liquid-Level Measurement Device And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Jayalaxmi Rajesh Hanni; K Soveet Kumar Prusty; Santhosh Kv; and Kartikeyan Premkumar.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a capacitive liquid-level sensor device (100) and a method (400) of determining a level of a liquid in a vessel. The device (100) includes a storage tank (102), at least a pair of elongated electrodes (106), a capacitance sensing circuit, a signal conditioning unit, an inlet (110) and an outlet (112). The storage tank (102) is configured to contain a liquid (104) whose level is to be measured. The electrodes (106) include a squircle-shaped cross-sectional geometry and perforations (108) formed along a length of the electrode (106). The capacitance sensing circuit is configured to generate a capacitance signal corresponding to a liquid level. The signal conditioning unit is configured to convert capacitance signal into measurable output signal. The device (100) with squircle geometry and the plurality of perforations (108) is configured to increase effective electrode surface area and to enhance interaction with a surrounding dielectric medium.
