Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a pH-sensitive colour-changing paper point impregnated with bromothymol blue for rapid chairside detection of residual microbial activity within the root canal system. The device operates on the principle that bacterial metabolism produces acidic by-products, leading to a decrease in intracanal pH. Bromothymol blue pH indicator undergoes a visible colour transition from blue to yellow within a pH range of 7.6 to 6.0, enabling real-time assessment of infection status. The invention provides a simple, costeffective, and non-culture-based diagnostic adjunct that aids clinicians in determining the adequacy of canal disinfection and improving treatment outcomes in endodontic therap
