Abstract: A cabin air filter assembly (100) with an integrated pull strap is disclosed for installation within a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) housing of a vehicle. The cabin air filter assembly (100) comprises a filter body (102) comprising a pleated filtering media (104), an edge band (106), and a pull strap (108) secured to the filter body (102) at an attachment region (110). The pull strap (108) provides a manually accessible gripping portion for facilitating installation and removal of the cabin air filter assembly (100) from the HVAC housing without applying a pulling force directly to the pleated filtering media (104). The pull strap (108) is configured to remain accessible after installation and to improve serviceability during routine replacement. A method (200) for removing the cabin air filter assembly (100) using the pull strap (108) and installing a replacement cabin air filter assembly is also disclosed.
