Abstract: The present invention discloses a biopolymer-based spray formulation designated as C-PDH- Regen developed for topical application in chronic diabetic lesions. The formulation comprises an aqueous leaf extract of Azadirachta indica integrated into a chitosan— alginate polyelectrolyte complex along with pharmaceutically acceptable stabilizing and viscositymodifying agents. The ionic interaction between chitosan and alginate results in formation of a structured polymeric network capable of sustained and localized release of plant-derived bioactive constituents. The developed spray demonstrates antimicrobial activity against wound-associated pathogens, antioxidant potential, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The spray delivery system provides uniform lesion coverage and supports maintenance of a moist wound microenvironment. The invention provides a stable and scalable therapeutic platform suitable for chronic diabetic lesion management.
