Abstract: The present invention discloses a spray-based topical formulation designated as C-CareHealDM spray developed for the management of diabetic wounds. The formulation comprises an aqueous extract of Chondracanthus exa, lperatus, a marine red alga, incorporated into a chitosan-alginate biopolymeric network along with pham1aceutically acceptable stabilizing agents. The ionic interaction between chitosan and alginate results in the formation of a structured polymeric complex that facilitates sustained release of marine bioactive constituents. The developed formulation demonstrates antioxidant activity, antimicrobial efficacy against wound- associated microorganisms, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The spray delivery format ensures uniform surface coverage and maintenance of a moist wound environment. The invention provides a stable, scalable, and non-invasive therapeutic system suitable for diabetic wound care.
