Abstract: The present invention describes a BWO-MPPT controlled dual-input single-output quadratic high-gain converter for hybrid solar-wind energy systems. The proposed system integrates photovoltaic and wind energy sources using a common power conversion structure. Voltage and current parameters of the renewable energy sources are sensed and processed by a Butterfly Optimization Algorithm-based Maximum Power Point Tracking controller to determine suitable operating points for maximum power extraction. The generated control signals regulate a dual-input single-output quadratic high-gain DC-DC converter, which combines the available renewable power and provides a high-voltage DC output. The proposed system reduces dependence on separate converter stages, improves renewable energy utilization, and provides a suitable power conversion interface for battery charging systems, DC microgrids, standalone renewable energy systems, and inverter-based applications.
