The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The smart toothbrush is an innovative oral hygiene device integrated with multiple sensors and connected to a mobile application with artificial intelligence. It is designed to monitor and improve brushing habits by providing real-time feedback. The system is built using an ESP32 microcontroller and incorporates sensors to track key parameters such as brushing strokes, applied pressure, plaque levels, and salivary pH. A motion sensor evaluates brushing frequency and technique, while a force sensor ensures optimal pressure to prevent damage to the gingiva and enamel. Plaque detection is achieved using a laser-based sensor, enabling early identification of plaque accumulation. Additionally, salivary pH assessment helps in understanding the risk for dental caries and other oral conditions. A piezo buzzer with an alarm ensures adequate brushing duration. All data are transmitted wirelessly to a mobile application, where artificial intelligence provides personalized feedback and recommendations, promoting improved oral hygiene practices and overall oral health.
