Abstract: ABSTRACT BRAKE FRICTION MATERIAL AGEING DETERMINATION Techniques for determining ageing of a brake friction material in a braking system are described. In an example, a change 5 in position of a brake lever is detected and a corresponding voltage signal from a first sensor is determined. Thereafter, an amount of vehicle deceleration is determined. An ageing factor for the braking system is then computed based on the voltage signal and the deceleration amount. The ageing factor, indicative of 10 brake friction material wear, is compared to a threshold. If the ageing factor exceeds the threshold, a notification indicating worn-out brake friction material is generated.
