Abstract: ABSTRACT BRAKE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM WITH MECHANICAL REDUNDANCY A brake-by-wire system within a vehicle is described which provides a mechanical braking redundancy for the vehicles along with familiar pedal feel as that of mechanical braking systems 5 to a driver. In example implementations of the present subject matter, the brake-by-wire system includes a braking simulator assembly which on one hand provides the vehicle with a mechanical braking redundant system to brake the vehicle during electrical malfunctions, such as Electronic Control Unit (ECU) 10 failures, and on the other, also acts as a braking simulator assembly providing mechanical feedback to a braking pedal of the vehicle to provide familiar pedal feel to the driver of the vehicle.
