Abstract: Orthodontic treatment is based on controlled tooth movement using brackets, archwires, ' aligners and other appliances. The rate of tooth movement along with the magnitude and direction of applied forces plays a major role in treatment efficiency, patient comfort and prevention of complications. In conventional orthodontics, treatment progress is monitored through periodic clinical visits. Because the monitoring is not continuous, early signs of abnormal tooth movement, excessive force application or inflammation-related changes may go undetected. To overcome these limitations, this project proposes a smart orthodontic monitoring application capable of measuring tooth movement and intra-oral parameters such as temperature in real time. The system includes sensor-integrated orthodontic brackets designed to track the rate of tooth movement, temperature and bracket health. A telemetric transmission module enables wireless transfer of sensor data using Bluetooth and/or WiFi. The collected data is securely stored and processed using cloud technology, allowing remote access for both the' patient and the orthodontist through a dedicated mobile application. The mobile application (Bracesmart) provides a userfriendly interface to display real-time treatment progress and alert the clinician to irregular patterns allowing timely intervention when required. In addition to monitoring, the application supports orthodontic practice management by offering features such as appointment booking, automated reminders and direct patient-doctor communication, which may improve compliance and reduce unnecessary chairside visits. With rapid advances in nanoelectronics, artificial intelligence, smart orthodontic brackets and smartphone-based monitoring systems are gaining importance as future tools in orthodontic care. By integrating sensor-enabled brackets, telemetric data transmission, cloud storage and an interactive mobile platform into a single system, this project aims to enhance precision in orthodontic treatment, improve patient engagement and optimize clinical decision-making.
