Abstract: There is provided an aqueous boron solution and a method of making same. The aqueous boron solution contains at least 8 wt. % boron, an alkanolamine and an alkaline sodium salt. The aqueous boron solution has a boron to alkanolamine molar ratio of more than 3.0. Moreover, the aqueous boron solution obtained is clear and stable. The boron present in the solution is solubilized in the form of B(OH)3 or anions thereof and does not precipitate even in long term storage of the aqueous boron solution.
