MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511017443 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 27, 2025, for Book Holding And Reading Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Rizwan Alam; and Rajesh Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A book holding and reading assistive device, comprises of a circular frame 101 developed to be positioned in proximity to a cabinet pull/knob, a microphone 102 for enabling a user to provide input voice commands for hanging the frame 101 on the cabinet, an ultrasonic sensor for determining dimensions of the pull/knob, a pair of extendable L-shaped rods 103 for positioning an electromagnet 104 in between the pull for hanging the frame 101 on the cabinet, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 105 to determine dimensions of a book, a pair of motorized clamps 106 by means of an extendable link for positioning the clamps 106 in proximity to edges of the opened book to holding the book, for allowing the user to read the book while performing a different task.
