MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611092903 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 31, 2026, for Blockchain-Enabled System For Real-Time Supply Chain Visibility And Product Traceability.
Inventors include Biky Chouhan; and Anika Garg.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a block-chain-enabled system and method for providing real-time visibility and end-to-end traceability across a supply chain. The system employs a permissioned block-chain network maintained by authorized participant nodes representing manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers, warehouses, retailers, and regulatory authorities. Each physical asset is assigned a unique digital identifier linked to a scannable tag, thereby creating an immutable digital twin recorded on the block-chain. An Internet of Things (IoT) sensor module continuously captures asset location, environmental parameters, and status information, and securely transmits the data to the block-chain through gateway nodes. Smart contracts automatically validate supply chain events and execute predefined actions including ownership transfer, compliance verification, and payment settlement. The decentralized architecture establishes a tamper-resistant shared ledger, eliminates data silos, enhances transparency, strengthens data integrity, enables rapid provenance verification, reduces fraud, and facilitates secure, real-time monitoring and automated supply chain operations across multiple stakeholders.
