Abstract: The present invention relates to a blockchain-enabled identity management system with enhanced privacy and decentralized authentication. The system comprises an Identity Registration Module, Decentralized Identity Generation Module, Identity Credential Management Module, Blockchain Ledger Module, Cryptographic Security Module, Decentralized Authentication Module, Privacy Management Module, Credential Verification Module, Access Control Module, Identity Recovery Module, Monitoring and Audit Module and Service Provider Interface Module. Identity information is validated and associated with a decentralized digital identity having cryptographic verification information. Identity credentials are digitally protected and corresponding verification references are maintained through a distributed blockchain ledger. Authentication is performed using a cryptographic challenge-response mechanism, while credential verification determines authenticity, integrity and validity status. The Privacy Management Module selectively discloses permitted identity attributes according to predefined policies. The Access Control Module generates authorization decisions based on verified credentials and access conditions. The system further supports identity recovery, credential status management and auditable identity transactions while minimizing unnecessary disclosure of sensitive identity information.
