Abstract: The present invention discloses a Blockchain-Based Identity Management (BBIM) system for secure, decentralized, and privacy-preserving digital identity management. The system enables users to create, manage, and selectively share self-sovereign identities across multiple service providers, including banking, healthcare, and government platforms. Encrypted identity attributes are stored on a distributed blockchain network, ensuring immutability, tamper-proof verification, and auditability. Smart contracts automate identity verification, access control, and consent management, while minimizing exposure of sensitive personal data. The system supports cloud- based deployment, enabling scalable processing of verification requests and cross-platform interoperability. By employing standardized identity formats and cryptographic methods, the proposed approach enhances security, reduces operational overhead, and maintains regulatory compliance, such as GDPR. Continuous monitoring and logging allow adaptability and robustness against fraud, identity spoofing, and unauthorized access. Experimental evaluation demonstrates that the BBIM system achieves high verification accuracy, efficient cross-platform authentication, and strong data privacy, providing a reliable and scalable solution for modern digital identity challenges.
