Abstract: The present invention relates to a USB-based electronic signature device configured to provide secure, auditable, and portable digital signing operations. The device comprises a fingerprint sensor, a secure element, a microcontroller, a real-time clock, tamper-detection sensors, non-volatile memory, and a USB communication interface integrated within a compact hardware token. The fingerprint sensor and/or PIN authentication mechanism verify user identity within the device, while the secure element stores cryptographic keys and performs signing operations without exposing private keys externally. Each signing event is recorded as a tamper-evident, cryptographically signed log entry associated with a monotonic counter and a trusted offline timestamp generated by the real-time clock. The device operates as a driverless USB HID/CCID token, enabling compatibility across multiple operating systems. Tamper-detection mechanisms record intrusion attempts and optionally initiate secure key erasure. The invention enhances authentication security, auditability, portability, and non-repudiation compared with conventional PIN-based digital signature tokens.
