MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092804 A) filed by Aditya University on July 30, 2026, for Biomechanical Sensing And Decision System For Controlled Seat Access And Method Of Operation.

Inventors include M Govardhan Reddy; and Gayam Sujatha.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a biomechanical sensing and decision system (100) for controlled seat access. The system (100) comprises a support frame (102), a seat unit (104) having a backrest (108), a four-bar linkage assembly (110) connecting the backrest (108) to a seat base (106), a driving unit (120), a biomechanical detection platform (124) comprising plurality of load cells (126), plurality of pressure sensors (128), and an inertial measurement unit (130), a control unit (132), and a load sensor (134). The control unit (132) processes acquired sensor signals to compute a mobility stability index. When the mobility stability index satisfies an adaptive eligibility threshold, the control unit (132) outputs an actuator control signal to the driving unit (120) to move the backrest (108) to an unfolded position from a folded position via the four-bar linkage assembly (110), and automatically resets the backrest (108) upon vacancy detected by the load sensor (134).
