MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411044886 A) filed by Balwant Rai on December 10, 2024, for Biomarkers And Peptide Targeting Inflamatory Lipotoxifibrosis For Prediction, Diagnosis And Monitoring Of Liver Diseases.
Inventor includes Balwant Rai.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides novel peptides and biomarkers targeting AMPK/Nrf2 signaling through inflammatory lipotoxifibrosis for the early detection, risk analysis, diagnosis, and monitoring of liver diseases. In particular, the peptides are useful in the treatment of inflammation and lipotoxifibrosis-related diseases. A method for risk detection, early diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of liver disease in an individual is provided by measuring the amount, level, fold change and expression of specific biomarkers present in a bodily fluid and comparing them to a reference level of biomarkers from a healthy person, a person previously diagnosed with liver disease, or an earlier sample from the individual of interest. A point-of-care diagnostic device, assay, system, and a kit for use in the method are also provided.
