Abstract: ABSTRACT: Biogenic Synthesis of ZnTe Nanoparticles Using Ficus racemosa Linn. Fruit -Based Extract This invention describes an eco-friendly and cost-effective method for synthesizing zinc telluride (ZnTe) nanoparticles using Ficus fruit extract as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent. The extract, rich in bioactive phytochemicals, is prepared through sonication and microwave-assisted processing. Zinc nitrate and reduced tellurium precursors are reacted under mild vacuum- assisted stirring conditions to form ZnTe nanoparticles without the use of toxic solvents or harsh reaction environments. The phytochemicals facilitate controlled nucleation, particle growth, and stabilization, ensuring uniform size and composition. The nanoparticles are collected by centrifugation, washed, and dried at low temperature. This green synthesis approach significantly reduces chemical waste, energy consumption, and production cost while maintaining scalability and reproducibility. The resulting ZnTe nanoparticles are suitable for applications in optoelectronics, thin-film solar cells, photodetectors, light-emitting devices, and biocompatible imaging systems.
