The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: U.dioica L. commonly known as ‘stinging nettle’ belongs to the family Urticaceae. This perennial herbaceous plant found world-wide and is known for its medicinal properties but the plant remains underutilized. Tea is made from the leaves of U.dioica which have several health benefits. This tea is used as a reducing agent to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from silver nitrate (AgNO3). One-dimensional AgNPs which are lesser than 100nm in diameter are gaining interest for their potential application in various industries, building aircraft, nanoelectronics and in medicinal health. Green synthesis of AgNPs was carried out by using extract of U.dioica tea and their infusion with (U.dioica and lemon grass) tea (U.dioica and cardamom). The synthesized AgNPs was characterized using fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) which shows presence of functional group such as hydroxy group, alkyne, alkenyl, thiocyanate, ammonium ion. In X-ray diffraction (XRD) shows face centered cubic crystal (FCC) structure of AgNPs. In transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed that the AgNPs are spherical in shape and dispersion in particles of U.dioica and lemongrass AgNPs reveals that they are best reducing agent. field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis reveals the surface morphology of the silver nanoparticles. The microscopic and Spectroscopic technique confirmed formation, size and shape of AgNO3 nanoparticles, further difference in physical and morphological characteristic of synthesize nanoparticles is studied compared, analysed and justified. In this study it was found that among two leaf extract U.dioica and lemongrass tea extract serve as a good reducing agent. This environment friendly approach to synthesizing AgNPs holds promise for future applications in various fields.
